Furniture needs and use scenario
Custom furniture design and production
Furniture that belongs to the dimensions, rhythm and use of the space.

We start from what
the space needs.
Custom furniture design brings together precise dimensions, the behaviour of materials and the details of daily use to create solutions specific to the space.
We begin custom furniture work not by choosing a ready-made product, but by defining the role the piece will play in the space. How a cloakroom unit will meet the flow at the entrance, how kitchen storage will ease the sequence of preparing and serving, how a bookcase will affect light and circulation: these are the first questions of the design. By considering everyday details such as dimensions, door swing, reach and cleaning from the start, we design pieces that are not only good to look at but comfortable to use for a long time.
When choosing materials, we consider veneer, solid timber, natural stone, compact surfaces, metal and paint finishes alongside the overall language of the space. We settle decisions such as edge finishes, joints, handles or handle-free opening, carcass thickness and internal organisation through samples and drawings. Before production we check critical dimensions again and assess whether the chosen material suits the intensity of use and the expected upkeep. Production thus becomes not an afterthought to the design, but the continuation of a whole established from the outset.
The scope can be set at different scales, from a single built-in element to every storage system in a home, from a reception desk to workstations. Depending on the space, we define the steps of measuring, drawing, material sampling, production coordination and installation checks. We aim for furniture that speaks the same language as the space, works quietly to meet the user’s needs and remains straightforward to maintain over time.
In custom furniture, the design does not stop at the outer appearance. Internal dividers, cable routes, ventilation gaps, access for cleaning and parts that can be removed when needed are all part of its working life. That is why, during drawing and sampling, we also discuss the hidden sides and settle early the decisions that would be hard to change after production.
We want each piece to be read not on its own, but together with the doors, floor, walls and other furniture around it. For this reason, the installation sequence and the final points of contact are followed as part of the design scope, just as the production decisions are.
Decisions made visible, scope made clear.
Dimensioned design and elevation decisions

Delivery and installation checklist
The work follows a clear sequence of steps.
- 01
Understanding use
We define what the furniture will hold, who will use it and which flow it will support in the space.
- 02
Setting the dimensions
We assess the space on site and resolve ergonomics and the relationship with surrounding elements together.
- 03
Choosing the detail
We settle material, edge, hardware, opening and internal organisation decisions with samples.
- 04
Following production
We check that production and installation proceed in line with the design decisions.
What you may want to know before we begin.
Can you adapt a ready-made piece to fit?
The purpose of custom work is to create a solution together with the dimensions of the space and the way it is used. Whether a ready-made product would suit can also be considered against these criteria in the first assessment.
Can furniture production be commissioned separately from design?
Depending on the project, we can plan design only, production coordination only, or work that covers both. The scope is set after reviewing the dimensions and any existing drawings.
What do you consider when choosing materials?
We consider intensity of use, touch, moisture, light, upkeep and the overall material language of the space together. We make colour, texture and joint decisions visible through samples.
Let’s think it through together.
